Paige Knudtson’s excitement for the new chapter of life could climb through the roof and knew no bounds. Not long after Paige found out she was pregnant with Finn, life made her cross paths with Brutus, a local rescue dog. Destiny brought Brutus, the 2-year-old Boxer dog, when she could least expect him. Life felt too overwhelming with all the hormonal imbalances. And having Brutus come through was one of the biggest blessings in disguise for her.
Paige’s love for Boxer dogs is inexplicable. Her younger days were very much influenced by her associations with pets, especially her favorite Boxer dogs. She could write a book on the gentle care and love they need from the moment they step into the house.
Paige was the happiest person she could ever be when her baby was born. Kids grow up real fast, but the process is all smiles and giggles. Today, some of the most relish-worthy moments of her day are seeing her baby and Brutus get along well. She never imagined that she would get to relive her childhood days, seeing her baby, Finn, and Brutus spend quality time with one another.
Brutus has surely become Finn’s soul confidant by now, Paige shared. He is her baby boy’s life-size teddy bear, and the pet loves to seek his attention. He won’t leave a chance to snuggle with other people, but only when Finn’s not around. They are best buddies and adorable together.
Paige shared that her pregnancy was full of complications. When she was 20 weeks pregnant, the real-life test began. An anatomy scan revealed Finn had a serious heart condition. Shortly after his birth, the little baby had to undergo multiple procedures before the open-heart surgery happened. The mother considers herself extremely lucky to have found out about the heart defect before birth; otherwise, things would have gone haywire.
The toughest time of her life was to see her little baby boy undergo seven weeks of intense surgeries and complications. When Finn finally got home, Brutus was the happiest of them all. The big brother is very protective of Finn. She always finds Brutus being his extra protective self around Finn and now she is habitual about that. From watching cartoons on television to napping, there is no chance one will find Brutus and Finn apart for even a second.
Brutus is always following Finn like a bodyguard, shared Paige. In case Finn gets sick unluckily, Brutus knows about it first and rests his head on Finn’s chest. Paige cannot even keep them apart at night; their bond is so strong.

When Finn was younger, Brutus slept on the rug placed in front of Finn’s crib. Finn is all grown up and now likes to sleep in his toddler bed for the past month. It has become much easier for the two best friends to snuggle up at night.
Brutus can conveniently crawl up and get into Finn’s bed. When Paige first noticed this thing, she found it as a protective gesture on Brutus’ part. Paige believes Brutus does so to prevent Finn from rolling over and falling out of his big boy bed.
Brutus is always following Finn around, even in places Finn would grow up to find a little uncomfortable. Now, Finn has started reciprocating as well. Recently, Finn climbed out of bed to sleep next to Brutus on the floor.

Paige has now moved Brutus’ bed to Finn’s room. Her baby boy often snuggles out of his bed to sleep with his big brother in his bed. Paige noticed this through a nanny cam. She saw Finn grab his blanket, climb out of the toddler bed, and snuggle next to Brutus. The chivalrous big brother does not mind playing the role of his little brother’s pillow until the time Finn is sleeping peacefully.
The whole family is now very familiar with seeing the two brothers curled up together the next morning. It is nothing new for them now. Be it Finn’s bed, Brutus’ bed, or just the floor, the two have become inseparable at night. Paige Knudtson is happy to see them share such a soulful bond and knows deep down that Brutus will always be there for her son, no matter what.
