Watch Man Rescue Dog Whose Tongue Was Stuck to an Ice-Cold Manhole Cover

Winter’s freezing temperatures can be dangerous for domestic animals trapped outside. Occasionally, the danger may occur weirdly and surprisingly.

This was the case in Vladivostok, Russia, where a man discovered a dog with its tongue frozen on a frosty manhole cover. The kind-hearted man assisted in freeing the dog that got stuck when it licked the cold metal.

Reports indicate that recently, the city’s temperatures during the day have been an average of a mere 5 degrees Fahrenheit.

The dog couldn’t free herself

Despite trying so desperately to free herself, the dog could not manage without the man’s help. The man helped free the dog by pouring water on the frozen part.

The dog was lucky as the man’s efforts bore fruit. She survived the death scare without suffering any serious injuries.

Kudos to the man for acting so quickly to save an animal that needed help. No one knows whether the dog has an owner or is homeless.

Keeping our pet animals inside is the most important thing in freezing temperatures

There are so many dangers awaiting animals once temperatures fall. For example, exposure to cold temperatures may cause animals to suffer from dehydration or fatal frostbite.

The freezing winter temperatures pose a risk to all neglected or unguarded domestic animals. However, those at more risk are the small animals, the young or old animals, as well as short-haired animals.

Do not let your cat or dog wander outside when temperatures drop. Cats are notorious for climbing under cars’ hoods in cold weather to be close to the warm engines. When the car is started, the cats get critically injured and sometimes even die.

Look out for lost or homeless animals that depend on our kindness to endure life-threatening weather conditions. Show kindness to unidentified animals by taking them in while you locate their owners or taking them to the nearest animal shelter.

Give distrustful or unfriendly stray animals food and water. Do not forget to place a call to your local humane society to help them.

Outdoor or yard dogs may also face extra difficulties when the temperatures are chilly. These dogs tend to have inadequate shelter, food, water, and vet care.

The U.S. laws require dogs to have suitable shelter. Report anyone who refuses to bring their animals indoors or any animal that doesn’t have adequate shelter or lacks shelter.

Don’t forget to neuter or spay your pet animal.

During winter, homeless animals are at an increased risk. Therefore, it’s advisable to adopt from an animal shelter if you want to get an animal companion. Buying from a pet store or breeder prevents a homeless dog from an animal shelter from getting a deserved loving home.

Conclusion

News of dogs freezing to death is common each winter. Even when they don’t die, animals still suffer greatly in the cold when temperatures are freezing. You can be an angel for animals by sponsoring and helping animal shelters give outdoor dogs secure and warm houses.
