After 372 Days in Shelter, Dog Finds Forever Home and Excitedly Jumps into New Owner’s Truck

Dog saved from euthanasia finds forever home after 372 days at animal shelter

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) – A dog at last has found a home after staying at the Naperville Area Humane Society for 372 days.

The dog is saved from euthanasia

Major, a three-year-old dog, was rescued alongside his brother from Quincy, Illinois. Officials at the animal shelter say that the two dogs were saved from euthanasia.

He has been at the facility for more than one year, waiting for a family to adopt him.

His wish of having a forever home became a reality on Wednesday.

The dog is adopted

Major was adopted by a semi-truck driver. His new owner drives around the country in the company of his dog.

He also adopted his previous dog from the Naperville Area Humane Society seven years ago. When the dog passed away not long ago, he got in touch with the shelter and told them he missed having a companion and was ready to adopt once more.

The shelter officials were convinced that the adoption was intended immediately after Major and his new owner met.

After spending several hours together, Major swiftly learned to jump up into the semi-truck. In a jiff, Major won himself a home and they left together with his new owner heading towards North Dakota.

Conclusion

According to shelter officials, Major adores people, loves to play with other dogs, and walks magnificently on a leash.

His new owner is from the Naperville area. He said he would pass by the shelter soon to say hello to the staff when he came back home.
