World’s Loneliest Shelter Dog’ Becomes a Movie Star in Transformers 5, Works with Anthony Hopkins

It was a relief and a sign of better things ahead for Freya, a dog who had been in a rescue center for 1889 days, to finally get noticed and find a home. The dog’s story piqued a film director’s interest, who thought to give her a role in a movie that completely changed her life. Read on to find out what happened.

The misfortune of Freya

Freya is an epileptic Staffordshire Bull Terrier who had a difficult first six years of her life. She stayed at the Freshfields Animal Rescue Center, and for those six years, nobody wanted her. All who visited the shelter in search of a pet rejected her, leading to a total of more than 18,720 rejections. For this reason, she was labeled ‘The World’s Loneliest Dog.’

A door opens for Freya

Michael Bay, a film director and dog lover, was moved by Freya’s story while reading a British article. He immediately decided to help. Since there was a slot for a dog in a hit Hollywood movie that Bay was filming, Freya was given the role. She fit perfectly, acting alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins. This was the key that opened her door to opportunities, as people got to see her for who she truly was.

Freya finds a home

Bay also posted on his social media platform that the World’s Loneliest Dog was playing a role in Transformers. He also committed to finding a home for Freya. Not so long after, the pooch attracted a dog lover’s attention, who came and took her home.

Conclusion

In the end, it was good to learn that Freya found light at the end of the tunnel. The story teaches us the need to give love to the surrounding animals because they deserve it too.
